What are the advantages of lithium batteries?

The advantages of lithium-ion batteries include large capacity and high operating voltage. The capacity is twice that of an equivalent nickel cadmium battery, making it more suitable for long-term communication. The voltage of a typical single lithium battery is 3.7V, which is three times that of nickel cadmium and nickel hydrogen batteries.  

2. Strong charge retention ability and wide allowable operating temperature range. After being stored in an open circuit at (20 ± 5) ℃ for 30 days, the room temperature discharge capacity of the battery is greater than 85% of the rated capacity. Lithium ion batteries have excellent high and low temperature discharge performance, and can operate at -20 ˉ+60 ℃. Their high temperature discharge performance is higher than other types of batteries.

3. Long cycle life. Lithium ion batteries use carbon anodes, which do not generate dendritic lithium during charging and discharging, thus avoiding damage to the battery due to internal dendritic lithium short circuits. After 1200 consecutive charge and discharge cycles, the battery capacity will still not be lower than 60% of the rated value, far higher than other types of batteries, and has long-term economic use.

4. High safety, able to charge and discharge safely and quickly. Compared with metal lithium batteries, lithium-ion batteries have the characteristics of anti short circuit, anti overcharge, anti discharge, anti impact, anti vibration, shooting, needle puncture, no fire, no explosion, etc. Due to the use of a special carbon electrode instead of the metal lithium electrode as the anode, it allows for rapid charging and discharging, and can be charged and discharged at a charging rate of 1C, greatly improving safety performance.

5. No environmental pollution. Batteries do not contain harmful substances such as cadmium, lead, and mercury, making them a clean and "green" chemical energy source

6. No memory effect. It can be recharged and reused at any time, especially in wartime and emergency situations, demonstrating its excellent performance.  

7. Small size, light weight, and high specific energy. Usually, the specific energy of lithium-ion batteries can reach more than twice that of nickel cadmium batteries. Compared with nickel hydrogen batteries of the same capacity, the volume can be reduced by 30% and the weight can be reduced by 50%, which is beneficial for portable electronic devices to be small and lightweight
